New week, new training schedule! I like to switch up my routine every month or so, and this is the one I’m currently following, courtesy of Runner’s World.
Just one of the fantastic perks of my job: getting free classes at SoulCycle for the month of April! But it certainly isn’t your run-of-the-mill spin class.
This song was written for runners. It not only pushes me to run farther and faster but reminds me to enjoy the scenery as I go.
Sometimes I get so caught up in trying to compete with the person running next to me at the gym or the people I see out running in my neighborhood that I forget that my biggest competition is me.
We each have our own demons to struggle with, but we don’t have to be alone in that fight. This song reminds me of that.

Out of all the yoga mats I’ve used, this is hands down my favorite one. It’s not only incredibly comfortable and supportive but eco-friendly, too.
Having a destination always makes the journey a bit more fun for me. And when the destination is the world famous Hollywood Sign, so much the better.
I remember when I used to go for a walk or run with a pocket radio. And even though now I’m a bit more selective with my music choices, I still can’t resist those mass-appeal, radio-friendly tunes.
All in all, a pretty good workout today. Got in five miles and some stairs and was surrounded by beautiful fall weather.
