Where has this year gone?! Well with five months left to go, here’s an mid-year update on where I am with my resolutions.
New week, new training schedule! I like to switch up my routine every month or so, and this is the one I’m currently following, courtesy of Runner’s World.
“Go the extra mile; it’s never crowded” took on a very real meaning tonight during my five-mile run.
This song was written for runners. It not only pushes me to run farther and faster but reminds me to enjoy the scenery as I go.
Tragedies like the explosions at the Boston Marathon should be opportunities for us to reflect on how we can give back. Today, we take a cue from those thousands of selfless runners.
For 2013 I’m doing something I’ve never done before–write out a list of my goals for what I want to do/accomplish in the next 12 months. Which ones will stick? Only time will tell. (Hopefully all of them.)

Sometimes I get so caught up in trying to compete with the person running next to me at the gym or the people I see out running in my neighborhood that I forget that my biggest competition is me.
We each have our own demons to struggle with, but we don’t have to be alone in that fight. This song reminds me of that.
